20 Acres close to Burns and Malheur Lake in Central Oregon. Gorgeous mountain and prairie views nestled amongst oceans of fragrant desert sage. Surrounded by good farm ground. Ideal size for a small farm. Bring the quads, kids, horses, fishing gear, RV and camp out, or build a cabin or tiny home. This property would be great for hunting too. Tons of wildlife here. Mule deer, rabbits, & antelope are everywhere. Earn extra income from this property by leasing it to hunters when you’re not using it and harvesting and selling the new growth tips of the sage in the Summer. Only a mile off HWY 20. The wildlife viewing is excellent at Malheur lake, about 20 miles South. The terrain is relatively flat approximately 4,134 ft in elevation.

Burns is just 20 miles West. Where you can get groceries, gas, check your mail at the post office and pick up any other necessities.
Crystal Crane Springs is 20 miles South. Bathing in the mineral rich healing springs can have a profound effect on physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. The use of natural mineral water for the prevention and cure of disease is an accepted form of mainstream medicine around the world–and it’s right here in our Oregon water!
Malhuer Lake and National wildlife refuge are just 20 miles South. Malheur Lake has mythical status among migratory birds that cruise the Pacific Flyway, and is a nationally famous bird watching mecca bird lovers, the refuge is also “the bread basket for forage in Harney County.” Many other points of interest to nature-minded visitors are available within the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Wild horses graze the river basins and bighorn sheep inhabit the high canyons in the Steen Mountains. Although fishing is not permitted on Malheur Lake, there are two places within the refuge where fishermen can wet a line.
Roads to the property are good. Mostly paved roads on HWY 20 then make a right on Penny Rd., it’s a dirt road for about a mile. Then make a left and a dirt road runs along the South side of the property. I Recommend 4WD or a sturdy High-Clearance vehicle if you are going to drive onto the property. See Google Map. Use GPS. I highly recommend bringing a chainsaw as well just in case you run into some bigger sagebrush on the property itself.
This property is zoned EFRU – 2 which would require you to apply for a conditional use permit from the planning department if you plan on putting a home on the property. There are mobile homes and stick built homes in the area
